Fr. Roy A. Lee, Ph.D., comes from a family of six siblings that consists of three older brothers and two older sisters, as well as eleven nephews and nieces. His parents, Juanita & Lester Lee, were born and lived in Jackson, Mississippi before moving to Milwaukee, Wisconsin in the 1950’s for better job opportunities.

 

Fr. Lee was ordained for the Archdiocese of Milwaukee. He served as associate pastor in several parishes in the Milwaukee area: St. Nicholas, St. Gregory, and St. Philip Neri. Over and above his work as a parish priest and equally as significant, Fr. Lee has had a very electric, challenging, and distinguished pastoral ministry as lecturer, educator, counselor, revivalist, retreat master, homilist, and chaplain in the U.S. Air Force. He is noteworthy scholar with considerable graduate-school training.

 

Fr. Lee earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Saint Pius X Seminary in Erlanger, Kentucky and completed his Masters of Divinity training from St. Francis de Sales in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, as well as another Master’s Degree in African-American Catholic Studies from Xavier University in New Orleans, Master’s Degree in Psychology from Divine Mercy University in Arlington, Virginia, in addition to a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Colorado State University. It was Fr. Lee’s research that brought him to the Atlanta area over fifteen years ago.

 

Fr. Lee currently is an adjunct professor for the University of St. Leo and has taught at DeVry University for 13 years in the area of Humanities. He also teaches Homiletics for the archdiocese of Atlanta and serves as a supply priest in the Archdiocese. He is also involved in Homeless Ministry, Street Ministry and Jail Ministry in the Atlanta area.

 

Fr. Lee still travels the world to do lectures, retreats, missions and revivals. He is currently working on two books – an autobiography, as well as a book on The Spirituality of the Forsaken.

He has published an article on “The Intersections of Race and Class for Women in Academia” in The Journal of the Black Catholic Theological Symposium, Volume VIII, 2014
